2022 Contest Entries

The Ontonagon Artist Collective is bringing back the Gingerbread House contest. Contestants can choose any medium of Gingerbread House, see entry form for details. Houses can be made from scratch or a kit. Contestants are encouraged to use their imagination to come up with a House that’s unique and creative.  Home bakers, as well as professional bakers, are encouraged to get their families, and especially kids, involved in crafting a creation that just might end up being a gift or centerpiece for a holiday table.

The Houses will be displayed at a special reception at the Ontonagon Theatre for the December 2nd Holiday Christmas Concert. The Houses will then move to Olde Swing Bridge Coffee Roasters for further viewing and People’s Choice voting throughout the Hometown Christmas weekend.

There are four Categories -
Under 18
People's Choice

All houses must be completed prior to drop off, no construction onsite. OAC will contact contestants in advance to schedule a time to drop off their house.

All entries will be judged on Originality|Creativity and Overall appearance; Unique use of materials, difficulty of design and construction. See entry form on website for details.

We anticipate having more general competitor entries than professional competitors and will be asking all general competitors to submit their entry form in advance for our team of judges to select for inclusion in the Gingerbread House Gallery at Olde Swing Bridge Coffee Roasters where the public will be invited to vote on their final favorites People’s choice on Dec. 3 & 4th.
